What ProFast does today (version 1.0.0)
Auto Dimension
Where: SKETCH tab > CONSTRAINTS
- Adds dimensions to a sketch until it is fully constrained, measured from one datum point (the sketch origin, or a point you pick).
- Diameters on circles, radii on arcs, horizontal and vertical distances for lines and points.
- Can add horizontal, vertical and coincident constraints first, and place the new dimension text outside the sketch.
- Never deletes your existing dimensions or constraints. Tells you what is still free (for example splines).
- On commercial Fusion licences, you can run the AutoConstrain (AI) feature of Autodesk Fusion instead.
- One undo step for the whole run.
Unlink Sketch
Where: SKETCH tab > CONSTRAINTS
- Turns projected, included and linked geometry into normal sketch geometry.
- Works on the sketch you are editing or on several sketches picked in the browser.
- Keeps your constraints and reports anything it could not unlink.
- One undo step.
Batch Export
Where: UTILITIES tab > ADD-INS
- Exports the components of the open design in one run: all components, parts only, the components you pick, or the whole design as one file.
- Formats: STEP, IGES, SMT, F3D, USD (.usdz), STL, OBJ and 3MF. Formats your Fusion plan cannot export are greyed out (for example IGES on Personal Use).
- File names from a pattern: component name, part number, description, design name, format.
- Mesh quality setting, and one mesh file per body if you want.
- A failed export never leaves a half-written file.
- Optional file list with the size and SHA-256 checksum of every file.
Step-by-step instructions are in the user guide.
Planned not in ProFast yet
This is where ProFast is heading. It has no dates and may change. Your subscription covers today's features.
- Parts list (BOM) Planned: indented, parts-only or purchasing lists with your own "bought item" and "leave out" flags, saved as Excel-ready CSV or XLSX. With a part-number generator and bulk rename for the components in your design (linked parts are listed, not changed).
- Release pack Planned: your exports, parts list and file list in one zip.
- Externalize Body/Component Planned: one click turns the bodies of a multi-body part, or components that depend on others, into their own external design files, carrying their design features with them so they stay editable.
- Fit check Planned: finds parts that clash or nearly touch and pin-in-hole pairs, shows the clearance or interference for the ISO fit you pick, adjusts the model's nominal sizes to reach that fit (clearance or press), and adds the proper tolerance notation to your drawings.
