ProFast adds three time-savers to Autodesk Fusion: Auto Dimension, Unlink Sketch and Batch Export.
Every ProFast command is also in the ProFast menu (lightning icon) in the top bar, next to Save and Undo, and in UTILITIES tab > ADD-INS > ProFast.
Where: SKETCH tab > CONSTRAINTS panel > Auto Dimension
Adds dimensions (and simple constraints) to a sketch until it is fully defined.
Use Fusion AI runs the AutoConstrain (AI) feature of Autodesk Fusion instead. It is offered on commercial Fusion licences. If your plan does not include it, ProFast uses its own rules and tells you.
Everything Auto Dimension adds is a single undo step: press Ctrl+Z once to undo it all.
Large sketches: Auto Dimension stops after 30 seconds so Fusion never freezes for long. The message then says it stopped; click Auto Dimension again and it carries on where it stopped. Typical sketches finish in about a second; a 200-line sketch takes around 20 seconds.
Where: SKETCH tab > CONSTRAINTS panel > Unlink Sketch
Turns projected, included and linked geometry into normal sketch lines and points, so the sketch no longer changes when the other part changes. Your constraints are kept.
Press Ctrl+Z once to undo.
Where: UTILITIES tab > ADD-INS panel > Batch Export
Exports every component of the open design (or only the ones you choose) to one or more file types in one go. Rest the mouse on any control in the dialog to see what it does.
Parts and components. A component is anything in the browser that holds bodies or other components. A part is a component with no components inside it, for example a bracket or a screw. A sub-assembly is a component that holds other components.
{name} uses the component name.USD: hidden items are left out. Linked (external) components, and components with linked components inside, are skipped, because that export can crash Fusion; a Linked parts line under the formats says so. Use STEP, F3D or a mesh format for those. For a complete file with hidden fasteners, use STEP or F3D.
| Token | Becomes |
|---|---|
{name} | Component name |
{pn} | Part number |
{desc} | Description |
{design} | Design (file) name |
{format} | File type, for example STEP |
Example: {pn} - {name} gives 1001 - Bracket.step.
Mesh settings (STL, OBJ, 3MF): choose the mesh quality, and whether to write one file per body instead of one per component. With Whole design or Selected components, every body of every part inside gets its own file.
Write file list saves manifest.csv in the output folder with every file's name, size and checksum.
ProFast remembers your last settings.
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| I cannot find the buttons. | Check that ProFast is running: UTILITIES > ADD-INS > Scripts and Add-Ins, tab Add-Ins, ProFast, Run (tick Run on Startup). The sketch buttons appear only on the SKETCH tab while you edit a sketch. |
| "This design is read-only". | You opened a read-only file (for example an older version or a shared file). Save a copy you can edit, then try again. |
| Auto Dimension says the sketch is not fully constrained. | Splines and some special curves are not dimensioned automatically. The message lists what was left. Add those dimensions by hand. |
| Unlink Sketch says some items are still linked. | The message says why. Most often these are the hidden edges Fusion adds when a sketch is placed on a face: they are invisible and ProFast leaves them alone on purpose. Any other item Fusion refuses to unlink can be deleted and redrawn. |
| A format is greyed out in Batch Export. | Your Fusion plan cannot export that format (for example IGES on Personal Use). Hover over it to see why. |
| Some exports failed. | The summary lists each failed file and the reason. Empty components are skipped on purpose. |
| ProFast says it cannot check my licence. | Check your internet connection, restart Fusion and try again. |
| Something went wrong. | Use Ctrl+Z to undo. Then contact support (below) and say what you clicked. Error details are in the Fusion log file. |

What ProFast sends. To check your subscription, ProFast sends your Autodesk user ID, the ProFast app ID and version over HTTPS to Autodesk (apps.autodesk.com, backup apps.exchange.autodesk.com): normally at most every 12 hours, every minute while blocked, and when you open ProFast Help unless subscribed. Autodesk also sees your IP address. ProFast has no analytics or tracking and never uploads your designs or files. Use Fusion AI runs an Autodesk Fusion feature, covered by Autodesk's privacy statement. Error details stay in the local Autodesk Fusion log unless you send them to us.
On your computer. Your last-used settings (%APPDATA%\ProFast), and the trial start date, when ProFast last ran, recent check results and a tamper check (%APPDATA%\ProFast and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ProFast, under a code made from your user ID).
What we receive and why. When you download or subscribe, Autodesk may send us your name, e-mail, company, country and order details, and PayPal sends payment details. We use them to provide, bill and support ProFast (contract) and keep tax records (legal duty) as long as tax law requires. We use your e-mails to answer you and, for feature requests, to decide what to build (legitimate interest), and delete them within 2 years of the last message, or sooner on request.
Sharing. We sell nothing. Autodesk, PayPal and Google (our e-mail) handle data under their own privacy policies and may process it outside your country; tax records go to tax authorities as required.
Your rights. You may ask to see, correct, delete, export or restrict your data, or object to its use, and complain to your data protection authority. Stopping or uninstalling ProFast stops the checks; to remove local data, also delete the folder and registry key above. Requests: use the Support section of the store page.
